Puducherry, Feb 23 : The Federation for People’s Rights here today urged the administration to press the Centre for the setting up of the Cauvery River Water Management Board and water regulatory committee falling in line with Tamil Nadu. In a statement here today, Federation Secretary G Sugumaran said that due to the continuous efforts of Tami Nadu government and intervention of the Supreme Court, the final award of the Cauvery River water Dispute Tribunal was notified. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha had written to the Prime Minster for setting up of the board and regulatory committee as pointed out in the final award and Chief Minster N Rangasamy should follow the suit. This would benefit not only the agriculturists of Tamil Nadu but Karaikal also, he added.
