PONDICHERRY: Expressing apprehensions that he may be attacked by the land-grabbing mafia for his crusade against it, Peoples’ Rights Federation Secretary G. Sugumaran on Tuesday urged the administration to provide him adequate protection. In a complaint to the police, he said a group of four persons, suspected to be the henchmen of the land grabbers, had tried to pick up a quarrel with him, looking for an excuse to assault him. Mr Sugumaran claimed that this could be a fallout of his involvement in one widely-reported case of land-grabbing.
