Puducherry, Sep 14 (UNI) The Federation for People’s Rights today urged the Union and Tamil Nadu Governments to grant permission to Tamil Nationalist Movement (TNM) leader P Nedumaran to send the consignment of food and medicines, collected by him, to the suffering Eelam Tamils in Jaffna in Sri Lanka.
In a statement here, Federation Secretary G Sugumaran called upon the Tamils to come together to fight for and protect the interests of the Eelam Tamils.
Taking strong exception to the police’s ”high-handedness” against Mr Nedumaran, who was on a fast-unto-death for the cause of Eelam Tamils, he urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi not to be a mere spectator to the issue but take immediate action against the police.
