Puducherry UNI, Puducherry Sub-Divisional Magistrate Vijayakumar today began his enquiry into the alleged murder of Bala of Thengaithittu on September 30 this year.
According to official sources, Bala was found dead in mysterious circumstances and Mudaliarpet police registered a case under 174 IPC.
Meanwhile, three persons surrendered before a local court and confessed to the crime. Following this, police treated the incident as a case of murder.
Meanwhile, on October 15, Federation for Peoples’ Rights Secretary G Sugumaran gave a representation to the District Collector seeking a CBI probe, second post-mortem and action against erring police personnel.
Choodamani, the mother of the deceased also submitted a representation to the Collector on October 18 for a thorough probe into her son’s death following which the SDM was directed to conduct an enquiry.
Mr Sugumaran, Ms Choodamani and Bala’s brother Selvamani, appeared before the SDM and gave their views in writing.
The Mudaliarpet Police and the doctor who conducted the post-mortem would be questioned shortly.
