By Express News Service – PUDUCHERRY: Condemning the vandalisation of the Ambedkar statue at Pathukannu junction near here, the Federation for People’s Rights (FPR) on Wednesday urged the government to take steps to book the culprits at the earliest.
In a statement, FPR secretary G Sugumaran said the vandalisation of the Ambedkar statue on September 1 should not be forgiven. “The move of the Villianur Police to erect another Ambedkar statue at the same place after the incident would set a wrong precedent. The police should have arrested the culprits instead,” he said.
Urging the police to arrest the culprits, he said the FPR would organise agitation if the police failed to book the culprits.
