Several Political parties and organisations today staged agitations were to condemn yesterday alleged police attack on the protesters against the Koodankulam Nuclear power project in Tirunelveli district of neighbouring Tamil Nadu. Police arrested 33 volunteers of the “Meenava Viduthalai Vengaigal” when they put up a road blockade at a busy junction. As many as 80 volunteers of the Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam(PDK) were arrested when they demonstrated at another junction. Over 60 volunteers of the Federation for Peoples Rights and some other organisations were arrested when blocked traffic at another junction.
