Puducherry: G. Sugumaran, secretary of the Federation of People’s Rights here will participate in the one-day seminar on “encounter killings” organised by the National Confederation of Human Rights Organisation (NCHRO) in Mumbai on Tuesday. The seminar will be held in association with the Amnesty International, he said in a release on Sunday.
A communication from the general convener of the NCHRO K.P.M. Shareef said that encounter killings in various parts of the country were increasing. The seminar in Mumbai will synchronise with the International Anti Torture Day and will also mark the beginning of a wider campaign, the confederation to launch soon, added the press release.
