Taking strong exception to the transfer of Sub-Collector (North) Vijayakumar Biduri to Mizoram, the Federation for People’s Rights today urged the administration to take immediate steps to retain him in the Puducherry administration.
In a statement here, Federation Secretary G Sugumaran said as Mr Biduri failed to succumb to the pressure of the rulers, he was victimised and transferred and this was condemnable.
He said Mr Biduri had attached 125 acres of surplus land under the Land Ceiling Act 1973. But as lands were owned by those close to the rulers, he was transferred, he claimed.
Mr Sugumaran said in his capacity as the District Magistrate, Mr Biduri had resolved about 700 cases related to law and order in the last two years of his service here.
