The Federation for People’s Rights today urged the territorial administration to fix the fees in all private medical colleges here and officially announce it, and sought stringent action against colleges which refuse to implement it. Federation Secretary G Sugumaran, in a statement here today also urged the administration to enact a legislation in the ongoing budget session of the assembly to control the deemed universities here and implement it with President’s assent.
Referring to the attempt by a student to commit suicide as he could not pay the fee to study MBBS, he said the government should be held responsible for colleges not adopting a uniform fee structure prescribed by it.
