News: Hand over the child prostitution racket case to the CBI

Puducherry, Apr 23 (UNI)The Federation for People’s Rights here today reiterated it’s demand to hand over the child prostitution racket case to the CBI.

In a statement here today,federation secretary G Sugumaran said five police personnel were so far arrested in this case and the CID police which is investigating the case is making efforts to close the case with the arrest of the police personnel.Mr.Venkatasamy,SP ,CID had already stated that 300 persons who got connection with the case were identified with the telephone numbers they contacted with the racket and action will be initiated against them.But so far no action was taken and a few of the police personnel arrested were not having an connection with the crime.

Mr.Sugumaran charged that some politicians and industrialists were involved in the crime and the Puducherry government and the police are action in a haste to savbe them.

He said the Tamil outfits along with the federation would hold a meeting here tomorrow to chalk out agitations to press the government to hand over the case to the CBI,to arrest all the politicians and industrialists involved,to ensure a normal life to the affected minor girls and to provide adequate compensation to them.
