News: Volunteers attempt to picket Aurobindo ashram arrested
As many as 71 volunteers of various organisations who attempted to picket Sri Aurobindo Ashram here were arrested.
According to police, the volunteers objecting to the government celebrating the centenary of the arrival of Sri Aurobido to Puducherry, took out a procession to the ashram.
They were stopped in front of the Grand Bazaar police station and arrested.
Volunteers of the MDMK, DMDK, Federation for Peoples’ Rights, Manithaneya Makkal Katchi, among others, participated in the agitation and courted arrest.
