News: Plea for action on politicians in case

Puducherry, Oct 8 : Strongly condemning the alleged intervention of politicians to save the culprits in a case registered under the Prevention of Atrocities against SC /ST, Federation for People’s Rights Secretary G Sugumaran and Irulalar Protection Association Convenor Prabha Kalvimani today demanded action against the said politicians.

Addressing a joint press conference here, they said Ezhumalai and his wife Sakunthala of Rattanai in Villuppuram District were given Rs 36,000 as advance and kept as bonded labourers in a brick klin owned by one Venkatesh.

Unable to withstand the harassment of Venkatesh, they ran way from the klin.

Furious over this,Venkatesh along with his henchmen went to Vikravandi and abducted Viji, the son-in-law of Ezhumali and brought him to Karikkalampakkam in Puducherry.
